Hands-on Therapies
Thai Yoga Massage
Though not a current service, Thai Yoga Massage is foundational to our practice. Rooted in Ayurveda and the temple arts of Southeast Asia, it embodies Mettā — compassionate loving-kindness — through assisted yoga stretches and mindful touch. Its influence continues to shape our approach, and one day, when the right practitioner arrives, this timeless healing art may return, supporting well-being on physical, spiritual, and energetic levels.
John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach®
This innovative therapy focuses on the fascia — the body’s connective tissue network. Gentle, sustained pressure helps release restrictions that cause pain, limit movement, and hold unresolved emotions. In doing so, it supports physical freedom, reduces musculoskeletal pain, restores range of motion, and opens the body to deeper transformation — including the release of outdated belief systems that no longer serve well-being. Myofascial Release helps restore balance on physical, spiritual, and energetic levels.
Visionary Craniosacral Work®
A subtle and intuitive touch that works with the rhythms of the craniosacral system — the skull, spine, and sacrum — to release deep-seated patterns of stress. This therapy engages on a profound, yet quietly subtle psychic level, often opening doorways into enhanced dream states and expanded inner awareness. By creating space for profound relaxation, emotional release, and whole-body integration, it supports healing on physical, spiritual, and energetic levels.
Somatic Unwinding
Somatic Unwinding is an intuitive process that allows the body to release deep-seated tensions through natural, spontaneous movement. Guided by gentle support, this therapy helps dissolve protective patterns held in the fascia and nervous system, often leading to energetic and emotional releases. By trusting the body’s innate intelligence, Somatic Unwinding restores ease, balance, and a renewed sense of connection between body, mind, and spirit.

Healing and Daoism
At Kusala Healing Arts, we honor traditions that look beyond the limits of Western medicine. Rooted in Daoist wisdom and Classical Chinese Medicine, our work embraces the body, mind, and spirit as one. These approaches invite a deeper connection to life’s natural rhythms, helping each person cultivate balance, resilience, and self-awareness.
Healing, in this view, is more than a response to illness — it is the rediscovery of vitality, a return to harmony with the world within and around us.
Classical Chinese Medicine
Chinese medicine has been practiced for thousands of years, drawing on observation of nature, the cycles of life, and the flow of qi — vital energy — throughout the body. At its heart, it is a healing art that blends philosophy, intuition, and practice.
Unlike standardized methods, Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM) honors its ancient roots. It recognizes that health depends on more than physical function; it includes our emotions, spirit, and relationship with the natural world. Treatments are tailored to the individual, with no “one-size-fits-all” approach.
Classical vs. Traditional Chinese Medicine
Many in the West are familiar with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a system shaped in the modern era. While useful, TCM often reflects political and scientific reforms that stripped away much of the spiritual and symbolic depth of earlier practice.
Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM) remains closer to the Daoist origins of healing. It draws on cosmology, symbolism, and the wisdom of the five elements. Its therapies — acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary guidance, qigong, and tai chi — are designed not only to treat symptoms but to restore balance, support spiritual growth, and align the individual with the flow of life.
Sound Healing
At Kusala Healing Arts, Vibrational Sound Therapy (VST) brings ancient sound healing into modern wellness. Using the deep, resonant tones of therapeutic singing bowls, VST helps quiet the mind, ease emotional tension, and restore balance to the bodymind system.
This sound-based therapy creates space for deep relaxation and clarity, making it especially helpful for those navigating stress, anxiety, or overactive thought patterns. VST also complements our other services — including Hands-on Therapies — enhancing each session's therapeutic depth and integration.
By incorporating VST into your care, you're inviting in a powerful, non-invasive therapy that supports your emotional, physical, and energetic well-being. We welcome you to experience the calming, centering effects of this practice and explore how sound and vibration can support your journey toward wholeness.
The Process of Sound Healing
Vibrational Sound Therapy (VST) is a calming, body-centered experience that uses therapeutic metal singing bowls to ease tension and promote balance. Fully clothed, you'll rest comfortably on the table as the bowls are gently placed and played in a soothing sequence tailored to your needs. Sessions are scheduled for 90 minutes to support emotional ease, physical relaxation, and inner stillness.
The Science and Tradition of Sound Healing
Rooted in ancient traditions and supported by modern science, sound therapy works by using specific tones and frequencies to influence brainwave activity. Through the use of singing bowls, tuning forks, wind chimes, and mantras, we help shift your mental state — encouraging deep calm, focused awareness, and energetic balance. This intentional use of sound supports a more grounded, centered, and harmonious experience of self.
Sound healing, in its many forms, becomes more than relaxation — it is a pathway to balance, harmony, and the restoration of inner strength.
