Why Kusala?
Kusala Healing Arts, spearheaded by USMC veteran Ryan M. Faught, embodies the resilience and skillfulness at the heart of its name, ‘kusala.’ Drawing from ancient Pāli and Sanskrit, kusala (pronounced ‘kuśh-ah-la’) is defined by The Oxford Dictionary of World Religions as the quality of being adept in choosing actions that avoid hindering spiritual development, instead focusing on those that foster and accelerate one’s spiritual wellness.
Our mission is deeply rooted in facilitating authentic healing, offering veterans, their families, and all who seek our support a compass to navigate through the terrain of current and past life traumas. We provide guidance towards choices and actions that encourage spiritual and holistic growth, ensuring a genuine restoration of the self.
What About Akusala?
In our journey towards wellness, understanding ‘akusala’ is as vital as embracing ‘kusala.’ Akusala, the antithesis of kusala, serves as a essential reminder of our current state and our progress in cultivating skillfulness.
Defined simply, akusala represents unskillful actions. These are actions that yield unwelcome consequences, often leading to suffering or adverse destinies, as they spring from the three detrimental roots: greed (lobha), hatred (dosa), and delusion (moha). Recognizing and transforming these unskillful actions are essential steps in our healing process, ensuring we move towards a path of positive growth and true healing.
Understanding Karma and Past Life Traumas
At Kusala Healing Arts, our approach to uncovering the narratives of past lives hinges on the profound principles of karma — the law of cause and effect that echoes through our incarnations. We believe that the body and mind hold keys to these past narratives, revealed through therapeutic practices that meld body awareness with healing intentions.
As we facilitate individuals in surfacing memories and traumas embedded in their physical being, we unlock a powerful avenue for healing. This process allows a person to engage actively in their awakening, bringing past influences into consciousness where they can be acknowledged and addressed.
Karma, the fundamental concept that every action has a repercussion, steers the journey of rebirth and the ongoing cycle of life. It is not a linear path but an intricate web that connects our actions across various lifetimes to our present spiritual health and well-being.
To navigate this complex terrain, Kusala Healing Arts encourages individuals to seek insights from their own spiritual allies and through personal practices like shamanism and conscious dreaming, aiding their quest for wholeness.
Karma is succinctly described as the force that propels the cycle of samsara, the continuous flow of life, death, and rebirth. It is an essential framework within which we understand our lives’ interconnected patterns, not just in the linear progression of time but as a vast, interconnected tapestry of existence.
Healing Karma
Through Awareness and Integration
At Kusala Healing Arts, we approach the concept of karmic healing with a focus on present awareness rather than the pursuit of past causations. We recognize that karmic patterns are intricately woven into the present condition of the bodymind and can manifest in various aspects of one’s life and health.
Our role is to mirror the individual’s awareness, facilitating self-healing that echoes into the multifaceted realms of their being and relationships. We guide our patients to understand and address the deeper imbalances that often contribute to disharmony, rather than solely treating surface-level symptoms.
By embracing this integrative approach, we empower individuals to naturally gravitate towards greater well-being, navigating towards a life characterized by ease, joy, and spiritual fulfillment, free from pain and the restrictive patterns of the past.
